Yireobong Akpaba is a lecturer in the Department of Marine Engineering at Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), where he has earned a reputation for excellence in teaching, mentorship, and research. He has been instrumental in shaping the curriculum and delivering critical courses in ship power plants, design, running & maintenance of marine diesel engines, reliability & optimization, energy efficiency, renewable energies etc. His teaching philosophy emphasizes hands-on learning, blending theory with practical applications to prepare students for real-world challenges in the maritime  and allied industry. As a distinguished professional with over Nine years of experience in engineering and academia. He possesses a strong academic background, holding both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Marine Engineering, and is presently enhancing his knowledge through doctoral studies.  With experience gathered through working with Nigerian Navy (NN), Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) etc. Yireobong's areas of expertise include Marine Diesel Engines, Ship Power Plants, Energy Efficiency improvement, Renewable/Alternative Energies and Marine Engineering Systems Design and simulation etc. He is also deeply invested in research, with a focus on enhancing the operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability of Marine Engineering systems. His dedication to advancing the field through innovation and impactful contributions underscores his role as a driving force in shaping the future of engineering.
